On the last Metalliferous Hills, in Maremma Toscana, stands Caldana, a small hamlet in the municipality of Gavorrano. Its name derives from the warm waters that, as early as Pliny's time, flowed from the base of the village's hill in the Bagnaccio area. Following mining, the waters followed other underground routes. This exclusive village has a very turbulent history; having been passed from family to family, it received its strength and prosperity after the wars thanks to the Austini family. It is precisely to the Austini family that we owe the unique character of this small Maremma village.
