Spanish Fortress of Porto Santo Stefano
WATER AND ITS COLORS, edited by Alessandra Lusini.
From June 23rd to July 24th 2016. Opening hours: 6:30 pm - 11:30 pm
The importance of water is so great that it is not a trivial exercise to spend a few moments reflecting on how precious it is for each of us. Water and its colors Reflection on the value of water takes on a very particular slant, balancing the usefulness and aesthetics of the good.
The exhibition aims to present this fundamental element of life, presenting it in various forms, contexts, and, of course, colors. The images offer plenty of scope for reflection, as do the exquisitely aesthetic suggestions that only the miracle of nature can offer—a miracle that humanity truly needs to respect in its perfect simplicity.
From the images created by Mauro Agnesoni, winner of numerous international competitions, Italian Photographic Artist recently awarded the AFI honor. From those of John Bonelli, photographer by passion as well as for educational needs, capable of extraordinary naturalness in capturing spontaneity and bringing out its hidden depth, of Luca Liserani, with its unusual and technically perfect perspectives, which capture moments of everyday life with geometric precision, enhancing sweetness and feeling and Alessandro Pangallozzi, who thanks to his underwater explorations sheds light on the seabed, showing combinations of light and colors belonging to the perfect marine kingdom. We then proceed with the images collected in the precious historical archive of Siena of theAssociation The Diana, thanks to which some spaces of the actual underground city constituted by the medieval Sienese aqueduct are presented
Also hosted in the exhibition will be a synthesis of the master's pictorial works Julian Giuggioli, whose crystalline talent is expressed through a highly symbolic surrealism, in harmony between shapes and colors. Ideally closing the circle with shots signed by Luca Liserani, a short dedication in images to the promontory of Monte Argentario, a backdrop of ideal beauty to encourage reflection on the deepest meaning of water and its colors.
AENIGMA by Edoardo Fiorito
From July 30th to August 18th 2016. The vernissage will be held on Saturday, July 30th at 7:00 pm. The finissage will be held on Thursday, August 18th at 7:00 pm. Opening hours: 6:30 pm - 11:30 pm
The photographic project just back from the success achieved in Russia with the production by the HSE University of Fly, will be hosted at the imposing coastal fortification overlooking Porto Santo Stefano, the capital of the municipality of Monte Argentario.
The photographic project, divided into three chapters (Childhood, Age of Light And Earth) represents a sort of photographic pilgrimage that has its origins in the Roman monumentality of churches and cathedrals to get to where the great Temple of Nature It has remained untouched by the hand of man.
“The mystery of the sacred. This could be the key to understanding Eduardo Fiorito's work, the wonder with which he investigates challenging themes such as existence, which here is informed by a thousand-year history. A history we can discover both in the vestiges of the past, in the symbolic places of religious belief, and in the most evocative spectacles offered by nature. Witnesses of this experience are, at times, a child, at times an adult, who advance like explorers in these worlds revealing a precarious existence. The artist uses photographic technique like a painter's palette, intervening in reality to immerse it in a poignant nostalgia.” says Raul Wittenberg in his critical essay on the author.
Aenigma It documents the long and passionate research on the evolution of the image, carried out over the years by the Italian photographer in various countries around the world, including Italy, Brazil, Egypt, Malta, Croatia, Iceland, Thailand, Indonesia, and Costa Rica, with a particular focus on the origins of Roman monumentality and the sacredness of its artistic landscape.
The exhibition will feature Gerald Bruneau (internationally renowned photographer), Daria Nikolyuk (head of the international office at HSE-University in Moscow) and Francesca Perti (Director of the Baronato Quattro Bellezze Gallery in Rome).
Fort Stella of Porto Ercole
SEA CARDS by Concetta De Pasquale curated by Rosa Basile's Humanart Gallery
From 14 to 26 July 2016. Opening hours: 10.00-13.00 and 18.00-21.00
The artist presents his latest work on paper, inspired by the theme of the sea, as a physical and dreamlike place of living. The exhibition will be previewed in January at the Vittorio Emanuele Theater of Messina for the cycle “Artist's Resistance” edited by Saverio Pugliatti, and in May at the MOCA Studio in Rome, is now being re-proposed at Forte Stella in Porto Ercole curated by Rosa Basile's Humanart Gallery.
In the exhibition, to the rhythm of the "breath of the sea", travel notes on a sailing boat follow one another, paintings on old nautical charts which narrate routes undertaken and dreamed of, marine backgrounds between the blue of the abyss and the corals of the "Sea below". The works on display thus tell the story of the sea in its dual nature... "the physical dimension of the horizontal journey" and... the metaphysical dimension of the "vertical journey" in search of ourselves...
Critical Presentation by Marco Moretti.
