A plate of spaghetti with tomato sauce? Roast chicken and baked potatoes? Impossible if our calendar dates back to a year before 1492, the year of the discovery of America.
So what did people eat in the Middle Ages, and how was the table set? What did peasants, knights, monks, nobles, and kings eat?
The archaeologists who have been excavating in Val di Cornia for years and who have participated in the preparation of the Piombino Castle and Medieval Ceramics Museum will share with you a unique and unpublished story that will have as its common thread that ofNutrition in the Middle Ages.
A botanist will complete the story with a practical laboratory Discover some little secrets of medieval cuisine, just like a true Master Chef!
During the morning, participants will learn to prepare at least three fundamental ingredients of medieval cuisine: salt, oil, and a drink.
