{"id":426,"date":"2014-05-20T17:42:21","date_gmt":"2014-05-20T15:42:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/coop-era.it\/?post_type=project&#038;p=426"},"modified":"2014-05-20T17:47:10","modified_gmt":"2014-05-20T15:47:10","slug":"scavi-archeologici-centri-urbani-toscana","status":"publish","type":"project","link":"https:\/\/coop-era.it\/en\/project\/scavi-archeologici-centri-urbani-toscana\/","title":{"rendered":"Archaeological excavations in urban centers in Tuscany"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2012 and 2013 we carried out numerous archaeological excavations in the urban fabric of some historic centres in <strong>Tuscany<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The opportunity to work in countries that are still inhabited today arose from a series of <strong>public works<\/strong> (in particular remakes of <strong>utilities<\/strong>) during which we collected a lot of information from the field which was then elaborated using the study methodologies of the archaeological discipline (GIS of urban centres, stratigraphy of the elevations, stratigraphy of the subsoil, chronotypological study of the classes of finds, archaeometric analyses of the ecofacts and of any remains of the productions).<\/p>\n<p>Coopera has worked in particular together with the<strong>Municipal Administration of Montieri<\/strong>, in some streets of the hamlets of <strong>Boccheggiano<\/strong> And <strong>Gerfalco<\/strong> and in the same <strong>Montieri<\/strong>, where we are investigating the whole country, a unique case in Tuscany, thanks to the project of installing the network of <strong>district heating<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/strada-a-gerfalco.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-427 aligncenter\" alt=\"strada-a-gerfalco\" src=\"http:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/strada-a-gerfalco-300x207.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/strada-a-gerfalco-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/strada-a-gerfalco-1024x709.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/strada-a-gerfalco-1080x748.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/strada-a-gerfalco.jpg 1181w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We have collaborated with companies that install <strong>photovoltaic panels<\/strong> on the territory and with the<strong>Union of Municipalities of the Metalliferous Hills<\/strong> to carry out archaeological surveillance even outside of inhabited centers, but in areas rich in archaeological emergencies.<\/p>\n<p>With these projects, we have found that much of the public works carried out by local governments in residential areas could provide, in addition to the immediate return on well-being for residents, added value in terms of knowledge and memory of the small urban centers that constitute the residential fabric of all of Tuscany, particularly in the southern area.<\/p>\n<p>The data collection phase was followed by an initial phase of scientific elaboration, made public through various scientific texts in press, and a poster presented in a <strong>Conference in Massa Marittima<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/copertina-volume.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-428 aligncenter\" alt=\"copertina-volume\" src=\"http:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/copertina-volume-213x300.jpg\" width=\"213\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/copertina-volume-213x300.jpg 213w, https:\/\/coop-era.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/copertina-volume.jpg 434w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 213px) 100vw, 213px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, we will attempt to use and manage this data through virtual applications, linked to the websites of the relevant administrations, and where necessary, we will develop a permanent way to bring the knowledge back to its original location, through small, non-invasive signs that blend seamlessly into the urban fabric.<\/p>\n<p>These <strong>data valorization methods<\/strong>, real or virtual, will give life to a virtuous path, which from public works, often the cause of inconveniences and discomforts, will bring the citizen a <strong>improvement<\/strong> in terms of <strong>livability<\/strong> and of <strong>awareness<\/strong> of the places where he lives and to <strong>tourists<\/strong> new tools to understand the <strong>beauty of Tuscan villages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Nel 2012 e nel 2013 abbiamo realizzato numerosi scavi archeologici nel tessuto urbano di alcuni centri storici in Toscana.
